Eddie's Elvis Birthday - Palm Springs

Eddie had no idea where we were headed until the Friday before his birthday. We went to King's Fish House, where I presented him with a card enclosing tickets for a tour of the Elvis Honeymoon House in Palm Springs. Our tour was fantastic and we stayed in the heart of downtown Palm Springs, which was where many of the old Hollywood stars like Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, and of course Elvis resided. Centrally located, we were able to walk to a restaurants and shops through star lined streets embedded with the names of famous actors. We usually stay in Rancho Mirage about 30 minutes away so this was a totally different experience for us. It was a quaint neighborhood with family owned restaurants. During our stay, we did our fair share of eating at Sherman's, Elmer's, and Spencer's.

I came down with a cold this birthday weekend. Eddie came down with an even worse respiratory virus the week after. Meanwhile, we both attended our work's national conference in downtown San Diego. Doctor's orders prohibited Eddie from running in the half marathon this weekend. It's been a fun but hectic week at the conference, and we're pooped plus I couldn't imagine running the half without Eddie so we decided not to run the half this time. We are disappointed but have already registered with our group train for the next one. We will prevail!

We posed just like a photo of Elvis and Priscilla who stood here in front of the house.
